The Ivy in the Park

The Light Lab were commissioned by PAD Contracts & Hawkins Brown architects to manufacture bespoke Glowrail illuminated handrails with a timber finish, for an exterior stairwell at The Ivy in the Park restaurant in Canada Square.

Due to the location and finish of the fittings, we had to factor many variables into the design, to guarantee the fitting remained weatherproof and water resistant. Also the only entry point for cabling was in the floor at the base – with lights being continuous over two flights – so this meant that all feed cabling had to run within the timber profile itself.
